Book Launch: NACTO Transit Street Design Guide

This event is no longer on sale.

Tuesday April 26

6:30 PM  –  8:30 PM

Transit and cities grow together. As cities work to become more compact, sustainable, and healthy, their work is paying dividends: in 2014, Americans took 10.8 billion trips on public transit, the highest since the dawn of the highway era. The NACTO Transit Street Design Guide is an illustrated, detailed introduction to designing streets for high-quality transit, from local buses to BRT, from streetcars to light rail – it draws on the expertise of a peer network and case studies from across North America.

Join contributors from the MTA, the Department of Transportation, TransitCenter, and the National Association of City Transportation Officials for a conversation about the much-needed link between transit planning, transportation engineering, and street design.

  • David Bragdon, Executive Director, TransitCenter
  • Matthew Roe, Director, Designing Cities Initiative, National Association of City Transportation Officials
  • Eric Beaton, Senior Director of Transit Development, New York City Department of Transportation
  • Sarah Wyss, Senior Director, Bus Service Planning at MTA New York City Transit
