Sustainability in Mass Transit

This event is no longer on sale.

Thursday April 18

6:00 PM  –  7:30 PM

Public transportation remains one of the most effective ways to reduce greenhouse emissions and manage the rising threats of climate change. The Metropolitan Transit Authority (MTA) has led the development of technologies and strategies to move millions sustainably, conserve energy, recycle resources, and increase efficiency.

Join us in celebrating Earth Day with Thomas Abdallah, the MTA’s Chief Environmental Engineer. With almost four decades of experience in the field, Abdallah will take us through some of the MTA’s past, current, and future efforts to achieve environmental sustainability, from electric buses to regenerative braking and rainwater collection.

Doors open at 5:45 pm.

Tickets for this event are free for members and $5 for the general public.
For members the discount is applied at checkout.
