Tuesday June 30

Other dates...

2:00 PM  –  3:00 PM

El Museo del Barrio’s exhibition and accompanying monograph (co-published with Aperture), Sophie Rivera: Double Exposures, highlights the work of pioneering Nuyorican photographer Sophie Rivera. Positioned at eye level with the elevated subway from her Morningside Heights apartment, Rivera drew inspiration from New York’s transit system from the 1970s through the 1990s. Featuring trains, transit workers, commuters, and more, Rivera captured the movement and everyday life of the city.

Come listen to Susanna Temkin, Interim Chief Curator, speak about Rivera’s first museum survey and her lasting influence on photography and Puerto Rican cultural history.

After you book your ticket, you will receive three emails. One will be a receipt, another ticket(s), and the third will include a Zoom link with instructions on how to participate. We encourage you to download the Zoom app in advance for the best user experience.
