Join us at Poster House for a curator-led tour of Leaving the Smoke Behind: Enjoying an Awayday, showcasing the Golden Age of London Passenger Transport Board posters. Like NYC’s poster campaign “The Subway Sun,” these posters advertised attractions reachable by public transit, featuring images of pastoral or unspoiled destinations for weekend day trips at the outer reaches of the London Underground and its connecting networks of tram and bus lines. This visit complements the Transit Museum’s new exhibit, Shining a light on The Subway Sun.
