Digital Discussion - Book Talk: 'Speed My Way Up'

Wednesday December 9

6:00 PM  –  7:00 PM

Through the eyes of the characters in her 2018 book, Speed My Way Up: Selected Stories, local author Kristin Pitanza paints a vivid picture of life on Staten Island. Using the island’s transit system as a backdrop in one of her four short fiction stories, Pitanza shows how life on Staten Island changed over the four decades following the opening of the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge in 1964.

Join Transit Museum’s Processing Archivist Katherine Sorresso and author Kristin Pitanza to discuss Speed My Way Up: Selected Stories. We encourage you to read the book before our digital discussion and join the conversation! Copies can be found through the New York Public Library as well as other online booksellers.

Please Note: This discussion will take place online. Upon registration, all participants will receive a confirmation e-mail with instructions on how to participate. We encourage you to download the Zoom app in advance for the best user experience
