MetroCard Mosaics with Nina Boesch

This event is no longer on sale.

Thursday August 15

6:00 PM  –  8:00 PM

Launched thirty years ago in 1994, the MetroCard proved more convenient than a pocketful of tokens and allowed for new incentives like unlimited rides and free transfers. Recycling MetroCards into art has long been a passion of artist Nina Boesch, whose intricate mosaic creations reimagine iconic New York landmarks and symbols.

In this hands-on workshop, learn about Nina’s creative process and work, and create your own MetroCard masterpiece while enjoying a glass of wine. Come celebrate this iconic form of payment on the eve of its retirement.

All skill levels are welcome.

Ticket price includes all materials and one drink. Additional drink tickets will be available for a cash-only donation of $5 each.

Refunds are not available for ticketed programs. Should you be unable to attend, the full price of unused tickets may be treated as a donation to the Transit Museum and is tax deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law.

Attendees ages 15 and under must be accompanied by an adult.
