Including over 5,400 linear feet of material, the New York Transit Museum’s archive holds innumerable stories waiting to be told. In the series, Mining the Archives, join Museum staff to uncover transit history.
The Gabrielle Shubert Research Center is one of two archival repositories that house some of the Museum’s hundreds of thousands of photographs, drawings, and blueprints, as well as more than 15,000 artifacts. These holdings explore the ever-evolving technology, design, and ridership of a system that runs 24 hours a day, every day of the year.
On this tour, learn how Museum archivists preserve objects and process archival materials, and get a close-up look at items from the Museum's extensive collections.
Members enjoy early access! Tickets go on sale to Museum members on Wednesday, April 1 at 10am ET. Remaining tickets go on sale to the public Friday, April 3 at 10am ET.
