Thursday July 31

Other dates...

6:00 PM  –  7:30 PM

In celebration of the 35 years since the passage of the American with Disabilities Act (ADA), MTA Leadership and the New York Transit Museum discuss the newest accessibility enhancements in the city’s transit system and the strides made to advance accessibility for all. Join us to learn about the history of MTA accessibility, as well as key initiatives such as street-to-platform elevators, modern accessible fare gates, and enhanced digital communication tools.

Moderated by Amy Boyle, Assistant Deputy Director, Education and Public Programs of the New York Transit Museum, this panel discussion includes Quemuel Arroyo, Chief Accessibility Officer and Senior Advisor to the Chairman; Shanifah Rieara, Chief Customer Officer and Senior Advisor to the Chairman; and Steven Loehr, Deputy Chief Development Officer.

This program will take place at CUSP at NYU Tandon 370 Jay Street. It will also be livestreamed. Use this link to register for virtual access if you are unable to attend in person.

Visitors will be added to NYU Campus Safety's visitor access list and will need to present a government-issued photo ID card to the Campus Safety Officer for entry (visitors under 18 years of age can provide non-government identification). Please note that the guest's name registered must match the name on the government-issued ID presented to the Campus Safety Officer. For additional questions or concerns, please connect with cusp.education@nyu.edu.

Children ages 15 and under must be accompanied by an adult.

Photography and video recording are permitted. However, tripods, stands, selfie sticks, and external lights may not be used. All photographs taken are for personal use only and permission to photograph may be revoked at any time.

Accessibility: CUSP at NYU Tandon 370 Jay Street is wheelchair accessible. ASL and CART will be provided. Please reach out to access@nytransitmuseum.org by July 24th if additional accommodations are required.

Tickets: Upon registration, you will receive two emails: the first will include more information about the program, and the second will include a link to your e-ticket(s). Tickets can either be printed in advance or shown on a mobile device.

All ticket sales are final. Should you be unable to attend the program on the date you reserved, the full price of unused tickets may be treated as a donation to the Transit Museum and is tax deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law. The Museum is not able to provide refunds or reschedule reservations to another date.
