There have been many iterations of the NYC subway map over the years, each designed to help straphangers successfully navigate the extensive system. For the new digital Live Subway Map, a first of its kind guide to navigating the subway system in real time, the MTA collaborated with the Transit Innovation Partnership and Work & Co., a Brooklyn-based global design and technology firm. Using the MTA’s own data, the map continually updates routes to illustrate current and accurate train service status for a more user-friendly and convenient tool for riders.
