Virtual Museum Highlights Tour

Wednesday July 12

3:00 PM  –  4:00 PM

Housed underground in an authentic 1936 subway station in Downtown Brooklyn, the Transit Museum’s working platform level is home to a selection of vintage subway and elevated cars dating back to 1907.

Join staff to virtually walk the Museum's platform and explore our vintage train cars and objects. Get a close look at lighting, handholds, seating, and era specific advertisements. Along the way, learn behind-the-scenes stories about New York’s transit system and Court Street Station. We will make a special visit to our R-10 car, currently featuring a display of illustrations by Amelia “Oppy” Opdyke Jones—the creative force behind the Subway Sun advertising campaigns.
