Virtual Museum Tour: Highlights from the Court Street Station

Housed underground in an authentic 1936 subway station in Downtown Brooklyn, the Transit Museum’s working platform level is home to a selection of vintage subway and elevated cars dating back to 1907.  

 
Kate Lanceley will lead you on a virtual walk of the platform to explore some of her favorite vintage train cars and objects. Get a close look at details such as lighting, handholds, seating, and era-specific advertisements, and see how they have changed over time. Along the way, discover trivia and behind the scenes stories about the New York City transit system and Court Street Station, with time to chat and ask questions.
