Next stop is: Special Day!
Rise and shine with the New York Transit Museum! Children with developmental disabilities or autism and their families are invited to join us in Downtown Brooklyn for a morning of free family fun. Discover the Museum before we open to the public at 10am and participate in special transit-themed activities led by Transit Museum staff. Let's have a Special Day together!
Join us for a transit adventure on October 18th! Learn about the work and workers that keep our city moving and design your own innovative vehicle or station in our Creation Station. Complete a Search and Find all through the museum to learn about transit tools! Then, head down to the platform to enjoy “Stand Clear of the Closing Doors, Please” an interactive puppet show about Catbear’s journey on the subway with Spellbound Theatre! A quiet room will be available for anyone who would like a sensory break.
All ages welcome! Admission to this program is FREE and advance registration is required. After registering you will receive 2 emails: a confirmation email and an email with your e-tickets for the event.
A social narrative will be emailed in advance of the program for your family to learn more about the activities and what to expect during this event.
